We are delighted to offer a new Homeshare opportunity to live comfortably and affordably in Greater London in return for providing some practical support and companionship (approximately 10 hours per week) to an older lady, and a reassuring overnight presence. No personal care is required or permitted.

Homeshare Location:
The home is well located in a quiet residential street, a 10-minute walk to New Malden station (South Western Railway – 20 minutes to Waterloo) and easy bus route to South Wimbledon station (Northern Line).
Accommodation on Offer:
Double bedroom overlooking the large garden, and bathroom (mostly sole use for the sharer). Lots of wardrobe storage, chest of drawers. Shared use of the kitchen, living room and garden. Wi-Fi and off-street parking available and storage for a bike.
What the Opportunity Involves:
In return for the low-cost accommodation (£199 per month), we are looking to match our homeowner with a friendly and kind sharer who is happy to help a little around the home and provide some companionship.
Our homeowner is in her early 80’s and recently widowed after a long happy marriage. She has a very close and supportive family who all live locally and pop in and help regularly.
She walks with mobility aids and has a stair lift at home. She is a little hard of hearing and has a few health issues which are managed, and carers come in a few times a week to help in the mornings.
Our homeowner has a great sense of humour, is funny and warm, very friendly and welcoming. She was a homemaker in a traditional Irish catholic family and her faith is very important.
She used to love dancing, music and fashion. Now due to her reduced mobility, she mostly enjoys watching TV, particularly films, reading, listening to Irish music or music from the 50’s, spending time with family and friends and going shopping when she can.
She is quite independent and happy with her own company and also has visitors regularly so she isn’t needing lots of companionship but it would provide peace of mind to her and the family, and a bit of additional support, to have someone else in the home, and an extra pair of eyes and ears.
The ideal Sharer will be a mature female, relaxed, easy-going, flexible and friendly, warm and caring. Someone working from home or working on a flexible or hybrid basis would be ideal, who might be at home in some afternoons and evenings, but it’s more about finding the right match so the homeowner is open to the sharer’s commitments and schedule.
Practical help might include offering a cup of tea or heating something up in the microwave, light help around the house eg emptying the dishwasher, tidying the kitchen, local errands, watering the plants and odd jobs. Someone who would enjoy some companionship, catching up for a chat, watching a film or sharing an odd meal together.

Cost: £199 per month
This is a monthly facilitation fee for our matching and ongoing monitoring service. You do NOT pay any rent to the Homeowner. Bills are included, although you may be asked to make a modest contribution to the Homeowner towards the energy bills, and council tax if you are working.
