We are delighted to offer a fabulous new Homeshare opportunity to live comfortably and affordably in a great part of north London with easy access into central London, in return for providing around 10 to 15 hours a week of practical support and daily companionship to an older lady and a reassuring overnight presence.

Homeshare Location:

Excellently located just a short walk from Islington High Street and its shops and cafes, Angel tube station (Northern line), Highbury and Islington tube (Victoria and London Overground) and Caledonian Road Overground.

Accommodation on offer:

A large double room on the top floor of this gorgeous four floor terraced  house, with plenty of storage space, desk and work/ study area, own separate bathroom, and separate shower room. Wi-Fi and washing machine available and shared use of the kitchen with own fridge, shared freezer, garden and there is a shed that can store a bike.

A cleaner comes once a week and the home is very clean and tidy.

What the opportunity involves: 

In return for the low-cost accommodation (£199 per month) we are looking to match our homeowner with a friendly female with a good sense of humour who is happy to provide some simple help at breakfast time and supper time, some IT and other support, some daily company and a reassuring presence at night. No personal care is permitted.

Our homeowner is in her late 80s, a friendly, kind and quiet lady who is easy to talk to, open-minded and young at heart. She studied and worked in textile design for many years and is interested in art, antiques, current affairs and Pilates.

She spends most of her time at home now having recovered from some health issues a year ago. She is no longer driving and uses a stick when walking at home.

A housekeeper comes daily during the week and helps with housework, shopping, laundry and she prepares lunch, and family visit over lunchtime on a Sunday. She has had a sharer living in for the past year who is sadly  moving out as her work now requires increased travel commitments.

We are looking to match our homeowner with a friendly female sharer who is in her 20s or 30s (our homeowners preference) who might be working outside the home, or from home or on hybrid basis who is happy to help prepare a simple breakfast of muesli and fresh fruit for the homeowner, and a very simple snack for supper at 6 pm. Other help might include IT support on her iPad or help with some telephone calls as she is partially deaf, collecting prescriptions occasionally and watering the plants. Some daily conversation and chat would also be lovely and enjoyable for both.

Unfortunately, no pets permitted in this Homeshare.

Cost: £199 per month

This is a monthly facilitation fee for our matching and ongoing monitoring service. You do NOT pay any rent Homeowner but will be asked to make a modest monthly contribution towards Council tax/bills.
