We are delighted to offer a new Homeshare opportunity for a suitable sharer to live comfortably and affordably in Islington, in return for providing some practical support to an older gentleman and some companionship.

A 10-minute walk to Highbury and Islington train and tube stations, and to the gorgeous shops and cafés in Upper Street, Islington; A 3-minute walk to Caledonian Road and Barnsbury overground station.
Accommodation on Offer
A bright and large double bedroom on the top floor of this gorgeous mews house with wardrobe space and desk. Private en-suite bathroom with separate shower cubicle. Shared use of the kitchen, living room, patio garden. Wifi is available.
A cleaner comes to the house weekly.
What the Opportunity involves:
In return for the low-cost accommodation (£199 pm), we are looking to match a well-suited Sharer to our older retired homeowner who finds living alone quite lonely and isolating. He enjoys regular telephone calls with friends and former colleagues and keeps himself busy during the day, but he misses having someone else around to talk to in the mornings and evenings over breakfast or supper.
Our homeowner is a retired lawyer and an academic. He spends his days reading, taking online courses in languages and walking his very sweet dog. He speaks French, Spanish and a little German, and he enjoys listening to classical music on Radio 3.
This opportunity would suit someone who would enjoy cooking and sharing a few evening meals together during the week, who is happy to help with a little light housework such as keeping the kitchen tidy, putting the bins out, local errands, watering and weeding the plants occasionally and who would enjoy some regular companionship and interesting conversation.
The ideal sharer will be very kind, helpful and mature, willing to provide some basic practical support and organisational help. Ideally someone working or studying with a bit of flexibility. Must like dogs and happy to have occasional responsibility for looking after the homeowner’s dog if he is away for a short trip or weekend.

Cost: £199 per month
This is a monthly facilitation fee for our matching and ongoing monitoring service. You do NOT pay any rent to the homeowner. Bills are included, although you may be asked to make a modest contribution to the Homeowner towards the energy bills and council tax.
