We are delighted to offer a new Homeshare opportunity to live comfortably and affordably in a gorgeous, well-maintained home in Mill Hill, in return for providing some practical support and companionship (approximately 10–15 hours per week) to an older gentleman, and a reassuring overnight presence. No personal care is required or permitted.

Homeshare Location:

The home is located moments from the Mill Hill Broadway High Street and close to the excellent transport facilities of Mill Hill Broadway overground station (Thameslink) and local bus links, offering easy access into central London. Shops, cafés, and green spaces are all nearby.

Accommodation on Offer:

A large, bright double bedroom in a gorgeous, well-maintained house with a beautiful garden and driveway with space for a car. Ensuite bathroom with a separate shower and plenty of wardrobe space. The sharer will also have access to the kitchen and welcoming living areas. Wi-Fi is available. A cleaner comes twice a week.

What the Opportunity involves:

In return for the low-cost accommodation (only £199 per month), we are looking to match our lovely homeowner with a friendly and kind female sharer who is happy to provide a little practical help and companionship.

Our homeowner is an independent and engaging gentleman in his early 80s who continues to run his own business part-time from home. He is recovering well from some surgery earlier in the year which knocked his confidence a little, using a walking stick for stability inside the home. His bedroom and bathroom are downstairs.

When not using his computer, he enjoys making pottery at home, speaking on the phone with family and friends, going out locally, watching the occasional quiz show, and he always has a puzzle on the go. He is very close to his two children and grandchildren who live close by and enjoys family meals at his daughter’s home every Friday night, as well as outings with friends or family at the weekends.

Our homeowner is looking to share his home with a kind and helpful person who would be happy to prepare a few fresh evening meals during the week and help with some other practical bits such as keeping the kitchen tidy, some light housework, local shopping if needed, and perhaps accompany him on an occasional local walk.

The ideal sharer will be a friendly, mature female who works on a hybrid or flexible basis who likes cooking and is happy to share some time and chat with him over some mealtimes.

The ideal person would be working on a hybrid basis maybe from home a couple of days a week or part time, with a positive, respectful attitude and good sense of humour — sociable but also mindful of personal space.

Cost: £199 per month

This is a monthly facilitation fee for our matching and ongoing monitoring service. You do NOT pay any rent to the Homeowner. Bills are included, although you may be asked to make a modest contribution to the Homeowner towards the energy bills, and council tax if you are working.
