Homeshare – Kensington, London W8

We are pleased to offer a wonderful Homeshare opportunity for someone to live comfortably and affordably in central London in return for providing some practical support, occasional companionship, and a reassuring overnight presence in the home.

Available to start from May 2025 or later.

Homeshare Location:

Only a few moments’ walk from the shops and cafes on Kensington High Street, and 5-10 minutes’ walk to Kensington (Olympia) station (District line and London Overground)

Accommodation on Offer:

A great space in the basement of this lovely home, with double bed and en-suite shower room, and communal laundry area with washing machine and dryer, and separate fridge, freezer, microwave and hob for the sharer. Desk space is available and there is excellent Wi-Fi.

What the Opportunity Involves: 

In return for the low-cost accommodation (£199 per month), we are looking to match our Homeowner with a male sharer who can provide some practical help in the home, approximately 10 hours pw. This will include odd jobs, for example, taking the bins out, answering the door to deliveries, IT support, occasional grocery shopping and particularly in the summer and autumn months clearing and bagging leaves from the garden.

Our Homeowner is an active older lady in her mid 70’s who is used to having a busy household and visitors. Her interests include travelling, current affairs, friends and family, theatre and gardening, She would be delighted to share some time and interesting conversation with the sharer on a daily/ad hoc basis, and over a drink or a meal occasionally but is not needing daily companionship. A priority is that the sharer sleeps in the home overnight for peace of mind and security reasons, and arrangements can be made if they are out or away with advance notice.

The ideal sharer will be a mature male student (aged 25-35) with their own independent and interesting life. Someone well travelled and friendly with a good sense of humour, sense of responsibility and importantly a ‘can-do’ and helpful attitude, happy to muck in with ad hoc practical support if asked. Someone studying or working from home or with a flexible or hybrid schedule will be best suited.  A non-smoker only.

Cost: £199 per month

This is a monthly facilitation fee for our matching and ongoing monitoring service. You do NOT pay any rent to the Homeowner. Bills are included, although you may be asked to make a modest contribution to the Homeowner towards the energy bills, and council tax if you are working.
