What the Opportunity Involves:
In return for the low-cost accommodation (£199 per month), we are looking to match our homeowner with a friendly and kind sharer who is happy to help a little around the home and provide some companionship.
Our homeowner is in his late 70s and is registered blind. He is mobile and independent and spends most days visiting his wife who resides in a local nursing home, otherwise listening to the radio and pottering around the house. He is easy-going and easy to talk to and enjoys the company of others and he is also happy with his own company.
His daughter and her two small friendly dogs are currently living with him and will be moving out in the next couple of months. He would like to continue to share his home with a kind person, preferably female, who has a good sense of humour and is happy to help him with some tasks that he can find difficult, for example, the odd bit of local shopping and errands, putting groceries away, some light help at breakfast time, emptying the bins etc. He would enjoy some daily companionship from someone who would be willing to read his post to him and perhaps share the odd evening meal.
His ideal sharer will be someone who is perhaps working from home on a hybrid basis, or flexibly, who is happy to ‘muck in’ with a few chores and provide some nice companionship and conversation. A non-smoker only. A driver would be helpful (there is an automatic car available) but this is not essential.
If this opportunity is of interest, please get in touch with us ASAP preferably by email and tell us about yourself, your work/studies schedule and why you would be well suited to it.
Cost: £199 per month
This is a monthly facilitation fee for our matching and ongoing monitoring service. You do NOT pay any rent to the Homeowner. Bills are included, although you may be asked to make a modest contribution to the Homeowner towards the energy bills, and council tax if you are working.
