We are delighted to offer a lovely new Homeshare opportunity for someone to live comfortably and affordably in return for providing some companionship and a little practical help to an older lady, and a reassuring overnight presence. No personal care is permitted.

Available from: end February/March 2025.

Homeshare Location:

15 minutes’ walk to Bickley station, 20 minutes to Pettswood station or 15-minute bus to Bromley South station with quick journey into Victoria.

Accommodation on Offer:

Recently refurbished double bedroom with plenty of built-in shelving and wardrobe space, new flooring, new desk, and chest of drawers. Double bed. Room opens to the garden through sliding doors. Sole use of family bathroom. Shared use of kitchen, large and sunny living room and garden. Wi-Fi Included.

What the Opportunity involves:

Our Homeowner is 90 years old, born in Spain and has lived in the UK for 60 years. In her younger days, she worked as an air hostess and translator. She is independent and quite mobile at home, sociable and friendly. Her interests include cooking and cookery books, reading and philosophy, classical and Spanish music and watching high-quality dramas. She enjoys making and eating healthy food, mostly vegetarian.

Our Homeowner is looking to share her home with a friendly and kind female sharer who speaks good and clear English (as she is a little hard of hearing). Someone ideally who might be working out of the home during the day, or for part of it and can be around in the evenings, and overnight.

A little practical support would include some local shopping and errands, putting the bins out, basic IT support. Some companionship in the evenings and sharing a few meals would be welcomed.

*The Homeowner’s family sometimes visits with a cat*

Cost: £199 per month

This is a monthly facilitation fee for our matching and ongoing monitoring service. You do NOT pay any rent to the Homeowner. Bills are included, although you may be asked to make a modest contribution to the Homeowner towards the energy bills, and council tax if you are working.
