We are delighted to offer a fabulous new Homeshare opportunity to live comfortably and affordably in a great part of north London with easy access to central London, in return for providing around 10 – 15 hours a week of practical support and daily companionship to an older lady. No personal care is permitted.
Available immediately/to start on 13/14 September 2024.
Homeshare Location:
The house is situated in a lovely quiet residential area, 10 minutes’ walk to Tufnell Park tube station (Northern line), and 20 minutes to Holloway Road station (Piccadilly line) with many local bus routes nearby. Only 5 minutes’ walk to local shops.
Accommodation on Offer:
Self-contained accommodation for the sharer on the top floor of the house comprising a bright double bedroom (a double bed can be provided), own living room with en-suite kitchen including hob, fridge and plenty of cupboard space, and bathroom with bath, shower, basin, and toilet.
There is good Wi-Fi in the home, a washing machine, tumble dryer and big garden. The main kitchen is downstairs and can also be used by the sharer.
A cleaner comes to the house once a week and the home is very clean and tidy.
What the Opportunity Involves:
In return for the low-cost accommodation (£199 per month), we are looking to match our lovely homeowner with a friendly and helpful sharer who can provide a little practical support, and some daily companionship.
Our homeowner is in her mid 80s and is a bright, independent, and sociable lady. She worked as a botanist in her career and is a keen gardener. She follows current affairs, loves reading and history and listening to BBC Radio 3 and 4.
Although usually very active, she is currently recovering from a small leg injury following a recent accident, and she is temporarily housebound whilst her leg heals, managing with practical support from her children and grandchildren.
She is looking to share her home with somebody who can help her with a few light tasks that she finds difficult at the moment such as putting online shopping away, local grocery shopping, feeding the cat and changing its litter regularly, and watering the plants and importantly someone who enjoys cooking and is happy to make a simple and healthy supper most evenings.
Our homeowner is open to sharing with somebody who is working out of the home during the day, or from home (a desk can be provided) who would also enjoy some companionship in the evenings, to share a few meals or watch television together, as the evenings can otherwise feel quite long and lonely.
PLEASE NOTE:
We are looking to match this opportunity very soon with a start date of 13th/14th September so please only apply to this opportunity if this timing fits with your expectations. Also there is a cat in the home already, and no other pets are welcome.
Cost: £199 per month
This is a monthly facilitation fee for our matching and ongoing monitoring service. You do NOT pay any rent to the Homeowner but may be asked to make a modest monthly contribution towards council tax forward/bills.
