We are pleased to offer an opportunity for someone to live affordably in London, in return for providing an older person with a reassuring presence at night and some companionship.

Homeshare Location:
5 minutes to East Finchley tube and 10 minutes to Highgate tube station (Northern Line) and buses right outside to central London.
Accommodation on Offer:
A single but good sized bedroom in this two bedroom flat, with single bed, wardrobe, shelving space and desk. Shared use of the bathroom, living room, fitted kitchen and communal garden: There is Wifi available.
A cleaner comes to the house regularly.
What the opportunity involves:
In return for the low-cost accommodation, we are looking to match a kind female Sharer to live in with our elderly homeowner who seeks a little companionship, some practical support such as grocery shopping, local errands, but mostly peace of mind that someone else is there at night. No personal-care is required or permitted.
Our homeowner is in her mid 90s, and still fairly independent. Having enjoyed a busy and interesting life involving volunteering and lots of travel, she has a simple routine these days, and is mostly at home. She has some short term memory issues and can be forgetful, however she enjoys listening to classical music, having interesting conversation and spending time with her family and friends.
Her ideal Sharer person will be kind, patient, companionable and a non-smoker who has been vaccinated against Covid. Somebody who is working or studying partly from home, who can share the odd cup of tea or meal, the occasional walk together or some time in an evening watching a documentary or a classical music programme would be well suited.
Cost: £199 per month
This is a monthly facilitation fee for our matching and ongoing monitoring service. You do not pay the rent to the homeowner. Bills are included however you may need to contribute towards council tax £50 per month. (Full-time students are exempt from council tax.)
