What the Opportunity entails:

This Homeshare opportunity is with an elderly lady who lives alone in a large semi-detached house in Golders Green, very close to the tube and bus station, and local busy high street shops.

She is looking to share her home with a kind and mature, female Sharer for some company and also to give her the reassurance of having someone else in the home at night.

In return for the low-cost accommodation, she is asking for around 10 hours practical support and companionship each week, mainly in the evenings and a few hours on the weekend.

Our Homeowner has led an interesting life and has had a long career in psychotherapy. Although retired and elderly, she still retains an interest in this work and continues to see a few patients regularly on Zoom. She is bright and enjoys good and interesting conversation and would particularly benefit from some companionship in the evenings.

The ideal Sharer for this opportunity will be someone who is caring and has experience with older people, although no personal care is permitted. Our Homeowner walks with a frame and is quite independent but would benefit from not being alone at home. She has a carer every morning.

The practical support would include heating up a few (already prepared) meals, preparing a couple of meals to share together (to include Sunday evenings), watering the plants and generally just being around to have a chat in an evening or play a game.

This opportunity would suit you a mature student or someone working mostly from home, who would enjoy providing some support and companionship to the Homeowner in some evenings during the week and a little on the weekends. A vegetarian is preferred as the home is kosher.

The accommodation on offer is a bright, single bedroom and shared use of the kitchen, lounge and garden. There is wifi in the house.
