What the Opportunity entails:

We have a new homeshare opportunity in Rickmansworth which would suit a kind Sharer who is willing to provide some companionship and practical support to an elderly gentleman, in return for low-cost accommodation in his home.

The property is located only 15 minutes’ walk from Rickmansworth train station, and is clean and very well maintained. The spare bedroom is a large double bedroom with good wardrobe space. You would have shared use of the bathroom, kitchen, lounge and garden and there is off street parking and wifi.

Our homeowner is a charming, sweet and friendly man who suffers from dementia which affects his short-term memory.  He was widowed many years ago and is independent, doing his own washing, ironing and cooking. He keeps himself busy during the day, watching game shows on television, and listening to Radio 5 Live, and he also enjoys spending time in the garden or walking in the local nature reserves. Until the pandemic started, he was regularly driving to the supermarket, and to watch Watford FC play at home.

The ideal Sharer will be someone who has some experience with dementia, and who can provide a bit of companionship in an evening and over the weekend, share a few meals and help with some post and admin.  There is a regular care package in place during the week.

This opportunity will suit somebody kind and mature who is working fairly locally, and looking for a nice, clean and safe affordable home.

Cost: £199 per month

This is a monthly facilitation fee for our service; you do not pay rent on top of this to the homeowner. There may be a small contribution to Council tax.
